But don’t let the headline fool you, all DLK’s food we had was the absolute best… We try to get off this mountain and eat out at least once a week. Although we developed a few favorites, we like to try new things, and there are so many places to eat around Western North Carolina.
We’ve been passing DLK every few weeks since it opened, and my spousal unit loves wings. We read all the many great reviews, and even heard from neighbors it was delicious.Finally made it to DLK, like many things in life, wish we would’ve tried it sooner. Dreadlife Kitchen is a not-to-miss meal when you visit Hendersonville, Asheville, or anywhere in WNC!

The Misses had been studying the online menu for a few days, as she likes to do. “Should I have this,” she says, “or this.” This goes on for literally several days or more, she’ll make her final decision at least three times before we visit. Of course when the time comes, she orders something different. hahaha

I had the fried pork chop with garlic parmesan, fried okra, and baked beans. She had the smoked wings with lemon pepper, mac ‘n cheese, and sweet potato tots. Yeah, I said that, sweet potato tots. Awesome. Yes, the wings were delicious. All the the sides were scrumptious as anything. This is exactly what I’d expect from a southern kitchen, reminds me of a delicious BBQ place I used to eat all the time in Tampa. But wait for it… the pork chop was perfect. I couldn’t believe it and have no idea how, exactly, they made it so soft. It was fried on the outside, but the inside almost melted, as if from a slow cooker. It was all so delicious. The biggest regret we have is not trying this place sooner. This will definitely be a regular stop for us, can’t wait to go back.

They also have a mobile food truck and do catering. It seems their facebook page lists where they’ll be. And browsing it, they often have lots of specials, pre-orderable meals, seasonal plates and foods.
